Twin Bayou District Roundtable
April 13, 2023 | 7:00 - 8:30 pm
Roundtable is a district monthly meeting typically held the second Thursday of the month at Blanton Scout House located behind St. Luke's Methodist Church, 3471 Westheimer Rd., Houston, TX 77027. Blanton Scout House is on West Alabama just east of Edloe. Roundtable is a form of supplemental training for volunteers and helps unit leaders plan and carry out their own program. The objective of roundtable is to give leaders program ideas; information on policy, events, and training opportunities; and an opportunity to share experiences and enjoy fun and fellowship with other Scouting leaders. As a result of the roundtable experience, unit leaders will be inspired, motivated, informed, and able to provide a stronger program for their Scouts. Follow the district Facebook page at facebook.com/TwinBayou.
Training is an important part of learning to become an effective leader. Trained leaders impact the quality of programs, leader tenure, youth tenure, and a whole lot more. A trained leader is better prepared to make the Scouting program all it can be! Every Scout deserves a trained leader. See the council training schedule for a list of additional trainings offered around the council. For more information, visit Charles Williams.

Merit Badge Counselors Needed
for the Merit Badge Fair on October 21, 2023
The Merit Badge Fair is an opportunity for Scouts in troops, crews or ships to work on requirements for one or two merit badges. Adult participation is needed to offer this event. Troops who provide merit badge counselors for the event will given the opportunity to allow Scouts in their unit register early before registration opens to other units. Registered merit badge counselors are needed to run the merit badge classes. Classes offered will be based on the number of merit badge counselors willing to teach classes. The merit badge counselors determine the pre-requisites and max number of students for each class.
